Gombe National Park
Sister to Mahale, Gombe is famously known for the Kasakela community of wild chimpanzees that were studied by Dr. Jane Goodall for over 50 years. Fringing Lake Tanganyika, Gombe is a dream destination for the primate enthusiast who doesn’t mind hanging out with the playfully interactive chimps. With the stunning lake and being at the end of the Great African Rift Valley, Gombe’s cascading waterfalls and flora also hosts 200 species of birds and 250 species of butterflies.
